A preview article by the esteemed American music media outlet Billboard, published on March 30, highlights that 'Arirang' has reached the zenith of the Billboard 200's main album chart, dated April 4. It made its chart debut with a staggering 641,000 album units, setting a record as the best weekly performance for a group album since the introduction of unit tracking back in December 2014. Astonishingly, 532,000 of these units represent pure album sales, encompassing both physical and digital purchases, thereby setting a new benchmark for the highest weekly sales of a group album in over a decade.
The global domination of BTS extends to various music platforms. The group has swept the weekly charts on Spotify, a leading global audio and music streaming platform, during the period from March 20 to March 26. They have topped the 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' charts globally. The title track of the album, 'SWIM', clinched the number one spot on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', while all 14 tracks from the album secured placements within the top 30.
The track 'SWIM' has consistently held the top position on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for an impressive 9 days and 7 days, respectively, spanning from March 20 to March 28 and March 23 to March 29. Additionally, every track from the album has been featured on the latest charts of both platforms. Even a full ten days post-release, not only the title track but every track continues to bask in widespread acclaim, demonstrating the fervent support from their global fanbase.
In the interim, BTS is gearing up for the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'', scheduled to occur at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. Come October, they will be gracing the stages of stadiums across South America, with performances slated in countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. The incredible demand for their live performances is evident as all 46 concerts, including those in Goyang, across North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have sold out swiftly, highlighting their phenomenal ticket-selling prowess.
